At Better Together Supports (BTS), our Direct Support Professionals help children and adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) live more independently and participate fully in their communities. No experience? No problem. We provide paid training and ongoing support. What we’re really looking for are dependable, compassionate people who enjoy helping others and are committed to showing up for the individuals who rely on them. What You’ll Do: Provide one-on-one support in clients’ homes and in the community. Responsibilities may include: assisting with daily living activities (dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, mobility); encouraging independence and supporting individual goals; taking clients into the community (recreation, appointments, shopping); building positive, trusting relationships with clients and families; maintaining accurate documentation and communicating with your support team; responding calmly and professionally in challenging situations. This is an active role that may require standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and assisting individuals with mobility or behavioral support needs. Reliability matters. Scheduling: Most new DSPs begin part-time with after-school hours (approx. 3:00 PM–6:00 PM), evenings, weekends, and holiday availability when needed. Additional hours may become available as client needs grow. Qualifications: At least 18; high school diploma or equivalent; eligible to work in the United States; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for positions requiring client transportation; ability to pass required background checks; ability to safely perform the physical requirements. No previous DSP experience required; related experience a plus.
