Job description:

EKC Enterprises, Inc. is hiring for a Lead AV Technician. This position will oversee the execution of audio-visual system installations, commissioning, and service. You’ll lead a crew of technicians, manage technical projects, ensure quality installations, and act as the technical point-of-contact for clients and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

Installation & Commissioning

  • Supervise and participate in installations pulling cable, mounting displays/projectors, building racks, and terminating connections.
  • Oversee control system and DSP configuration (e.g. Crestron, Extron, AMX, Biamp), and verify full system functionality before handover
  • Conduct site surveys, red-line updates, and system commissioning to industry standards

Team Leadership & Governance

  • Lead, mentor, and assign tasks to a team of Level I/II technicians; promote professional growth and uphold quality standards
  • Ensure safety compliance, proper PPE usage, and tidy work-site conditions

Project Coordination & Client Interaction

  • Collaborate with Project Managers, design staff, and clients engage in kickoff meetings, estimate labor, monitor scheduling milestones, and update stakeholders regularly
  • Provide technical support and demonstrations to clients; serve as the primary onsite liaison during and after installations

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts for AV equipment issues—from signal routing to control logic and network configurations
  • Perform preventative maintenance, firmware updates, and validate system performance metrics

Documentation & Inventory Management

  • Maintain accurate project documentation: red-line drawings, wiring schematics, configuration data, service logs, and as-built reports
  • Track tools, components, and consumables; stage equipment in advance; oversee logistics and van quality as needed
