Job Summary: Assists dentist during examination and treatment of patients within the scope of duties permitted by the state of New Jersey. Responsible for risk management, quality assurance, and excellent customer service; exemplifies the organization’s mission, vision, and core values.Duties: Obtain patient medical history and vital signs and record in dental chart; assist dentist chairside; prepare operatory instruments/supplies; seat and prepare patients; prepare restorative materials and cements and pass instruments; record notes/data; take, develop, mount, record and file radiographs; dismiss patients and disinfect operatory; provide post-op/surgical instructions; maintain inventory and place orders; clean/organize dental equipment; clean, sterilize and maintain equipment; monitor lab cases; pour stone/plaster models and assist with dental lab; clean and maintain dental lab equipment; monitor sterilization equipment with biological indicators; maintain daily log of patient encounters and daily check in/out; maintain monthly UDS report; assist reception as needed. All employees practice good risk management, quality assurance, and customer service.Qualifications: High school diploma or GED; completion of an accredited dental assistant program and/or DANB or nationally recognized certification preferred; 6 months–1 year related experience or equivalent combination of education/experience; radiology license issued by NJ or will be testing in 4 months; CBSPD certification or will be testing in 1 year. Must be certified or registered as a Dental Assistant with an NJ radiology license; accredited program completion may be waived based on experience; 1–2 years related experience or equivalent combination.As a condition of employment, all staff must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (including boosters when eligible) and provide documentation.
